Don’t Take Time For Granted

There are 12 months, 52 weeks, and 365 days within a year.  Within this time, unbeknownst to us, we’ve slowly, very slowly, evolved into a new person.  Time will let us experience new places, people, and the unexpected.  Whether how long or short our experiences were, it makes us become a different self.

I always thought the line “if it is meant to be, it will happen” was always true and I still believe that, that is the case.  However, most of us take this line for granted. Because we think we have a lot of time, fear the feeling of rejections or failures, and/or settle for comfort, most of us take the back seat.  But have we ever thought that some things happen at a certain time because it was meant to be?

There are some things in life that can’t be held off and we can’t use the line “if it is meant to be, it will happen” as an excuse to hold back. Because time doesn’t remain forever and opportunities are not always given.  We should not lose hope because we did not get what we want; rather, hopelessness comes when we’re not being truthful in what we want.

MINDPROOF TAKEAWAY

When something feels overwhelming or scary to conquer, take deep breaths for 5-10 minutes. Be aware that you have been given this time and opportunity for a reason.  It’s normal to feel overwhelmed and scared.  It’s normal to not know where to start. Remember that you don’t have a crystal ball and you won’t know all the answers.  Instead of focusing on all the things that you don’t know how to do in the moment, try breaking down your goal/passion to the lowest step possible.

If your’e too nervous to go up to that girl or guy that gives you butterflies, try just smiling at them when they walk past you.  If you can’t even make eye contact, practice giving eye contact to everyone in general and turn it into a lifestyle habit.   Perhaps next time you see the one that gives you the butterflies, you’ll be ready for them.

If you don’t know how you’re going to lose 50 lbs, try reducing one of your unhealthy snacks to a certain amount per week or month. Once you achieved that goal, start adding or eliminating other unhealthy lifestyle habits that work for you.

If you want to open a business or or start your own blog, google what steps you need to do initially and work on it day-by-day. Sometimes it can be just that simple!

The secret is not to focus on expecting results right away.  Changes and new experiences will take time.  If we all just focused on the steps we can do today, we will continue to move forward. Before you know it, you’ll be amazed at where you arrived and the person you have become, all because of the accumulation of small steps you have taken.
